Here we have an excerpt of Stevey-Lee Ginger's review of Lupe's performance @ the Royal Melbourne Zoo (Feb. 26th, 2010) which mainly focuses on how Lupe interacts with his fans:
"The night was especially memorable for the hardcore fans down the front – the ones who got there extra early and stood there the whole night amongst the heat and sweat with the pressure of a few hundred people pushing them up against the barrier.
Lupe was walking up and down the stage giving fans his gratitude and showing his appreciation simply by acknowledging their presence and dedication.
He would stop and point to those people who were singing every single word of every song, look right into their eyes and rap along with them...
Any performer who does that - who acknowledges their fans; who gets off their self-involved high horse and in amongst reality; those who really appreciate that they are only in that position because of their fans – those are the people who are really and truly worthy of devotion and loyalty to the extent that they can be labeled a ‘superstar’."
