In an interview with The Hilltop Lupe revealed that the next single off Lasers will be 'Out Of My Head' feat. Trey Songz. The song already gets mad airplay on various radio stations so I guess it's the best choice. Check an excerpt below:
Hilltop: What makes this album different from your last musically and lyrically?
Fiasco: This one is a little bit more pop, a little more commercial oriented. I'm focused on more radio records, but that was just musically. Lyrically and content wise it's the same as all of my other records, social conscious, social awareness, and self-determination and things of that nature.
Hilltop: Do you know what the next single will be?
Fiasco: The next single is actually a double hit. We're going to put the video out for ‘Words I Never Said' in a couple of weeks and the next single they are pushing is ‘Out of My Head' featuring Trey Songz.

MTV finally comes through with some official footage of their Spring Break event that went down in Vegas earlier this month. Above you can see Lupe perform 'I Don't Wanna Care Right Now' and below he does 'Words I Never Said.'
A lot of people who attended the Lasers Release Party at the House of Blues in Chicago 2 days ago were disappointed with it. Lupe just took to twitter to clear some things up:
To be clear to everyone that attended the House Of Blues Laser release thing in Chicago. It was NEVER supposed to be a show... The promoters didn't stress to the public the fact that it was supposed to just be a party.I had NO hand in organizing the event. Nor did my team. I don't even know who the other performers were until the night before the event. As far as me being late I literally drove about 6 hours to get there and I ran out of gas around Springfield!!!! Shout to AAA 4 the save!!! But anyways my name was on it so I'll take the "L" and rest assured that it will NEVER EVER happen again.
I love my fans. I'm sorry u guys had to go thru some BS. Again me and my crew had NOTHING to do w/ how the event was ran or organized. Also all the money for the event from my side is and always was going to be donated to charity so atleast for me it was a free event.

In a recent interview with Music News Daily, they asked Nas what he thought about the current state of Hip Hop today and this is what he had to say:
I know you probably been asked this a million times but do you think Hip-Hop is still dead?Yeah, yeah it is. Yeah, but the new artists that I’m loving they coming from the UK, they coming United States, they coming from all over the world and a few in particular are J. Cole, Jay Electronica. I’m really into them and I’m excited for Lupe Fiasco’s new album ‘Lasers’ and Raekwon’s new album so the spirit of Hip-Hop is alive and well. The spirit is, can’t kill the spirit.

HitsDailyDouble's final numbers are in for this week. According to them Lasers sold 204,843 copies in the first week. Those aren't the official SoundScan numbers that will decide about the Billboard charts though, we'll have to wait for those until tomorrow.
SoundScan numbers usually don't vary much from those though...so this is pretty big. Lupe has the number 1 album in the States right now and this also marks the biggest first week sales of his career.
Update: Bilboard confirms 204k
Seth Colter Walls of The Daily Beast spent some time with Lupe last month. Lupe spoke with him about his current album and future projects. Here's an excerpt of the article:
While sitting in the 27th-floor lounge of his corporate parent during the month before Lasers' release, Fiasco told The Daily Beast that he initially felt he was "creating new music" with his first draft. Then came the pressure from his label to take a pop turn.
"That's what the record label made me do," Fiasco said. "I asked 'What album do you want at this point? You're shitting on my creative [process] and what have you.' ... And they said, 'We want Top 40. We want No. 1 smashes.' ...So the focus for everybody, from A&R [people] down to the writers that I write with, went to: 'Let's get these smashes, write these big-ass hooks and get these big humongous beats.'"..."They don't have a choice on the next one," Fiasco told The Daily Beast later that night, back up on the 27th floor of his record company's office."The way I'm putting it out now is: What some of you guys sent me through, you'll never have a say-so on a project of mine ever again. That conversation between us is done. You're not even allowed to tell me what to do at all."
