Lupe recently called into Power92 Chicago and he talked about the success of Lasers and the video for "Out Of My Head". He also talks about his statements regarding President Obama and discusses some of the political corruption in Chicago, his debate with Bill O'Reilly, and the canceled AT&T "Music For You" concert.

The discussion was great and is definitely worth checking out. 48 minutes into the discussion Lupe also talked a bit about "Food and Liquor 2" and said that he hopes that it'll drop in the 1st quarter of next year and that he worked w/ Robert Glasper for it. #7 - Lupe Fiasco
Lupe Fiasco is an extremely popular artist despite having some of the most deeply multi-layered lyrics the genre has ever seen.
Normally I would see this as a positive thing for the industry, however his last album was a terrible, pandering piece of work thanks to people working at the label (I’m not a guy who rails against mainstream evil hampering artistic integrity or even like other people who spew such things, but in this case I was very angered).
That last tidbit aside, however, his previous work was glorious. He always had a socially responsible message in his agenda, but his rhymes were more than that. He would paint beautiful, detailed pictures, often times listening to him provided an experience akin to lucid dreaming, the way he delivered his fantastical lines in his trademark laid back manner.
Yet, his lyrics were not just free-associative “mush,” he always rapped with substance, often times just one couplet would offer three different meaning simultaneously, and yet his command of language never allowed the listener to be overwhelmed or frustrated. Even if you did not always know what he meant you always felt it. And damn… the man had a way with words.

The Fourth Annual Trae Day will be going down this Friday, July 22, in Houston, and for the first time ever, it will be live broadcast on XXL’s UStream channel.
In addition to Trae, who dropped his latest album, Street King, last Tuesday, Lupe Fiasco, Rich Boy, YC, Tity Boi, Twista and more will be hitting the stage.
XXL will be in attendance, capturing the event, performances, and interviews with the artists so that those at home can tune in. - XXL

After Lupe's performance one of the stages collapsed due to severe storms and some people were injured... one man is in critical condition, let's hope that he fully recovers.

Meanwhile Lasers climbed 2 spots up on the Billboard 200 and is now on position #107. It also climbed up a spot on the Rap Album Charts and is on position #12 this week.
