On November 7th, Transform America is hosting the Moving Minds Benefit Concert in New York City. The concert will inspire, motivate and engage 3,000 people of the New York social justice community at a venue in midtown Manhattan featuring Grammy Award-winning artist Lupe Fiasco.
The world is going mad as Lupe Fiasco leaps onto the stage, flying in from somewhere behind the black curtain to take his pulpit behind the microphone stand.

He is rapping "Words I Never Said," rolling his shoulders to the rhythm of the full band behind him, his short dreads bursting skyward like fireworks.
"Your child's future was the first to go with budget cuts/ If you think that hurts then, wait, here comes the uppercut, the school was garbage in the first place..."
At the tail of each bar he gazes into the mass of swaying arms and bouncing bodies, packing the floor of the Chaifetz Arena at Saint Louis University. It's homecoming weekend here and Lupe is preaching to an anguished generation crippled with college debt, staring into the mouth of the worst economy in 80 years, adolescent idealism prematurely eroding into disillusionment.We're a generation at a crossroads between empowerment and cynicism. Lupe gives us voice.
The UPC presented Girltalk & Lupe Fiasco on September 22, 2011 at the Auburn Arena. This video shows the last song Lupe performed. He invited four guys from the floor level up to the stage and they started to show rhythm.

From the radio popular hits like 'Out of my Head' and 'The Show Goes On' to throwbacks like 'Kick, Push', 'The Cool' and 'Hip-Hop Saved My Life' Lupe performed an effortlessly tireless 55 min set. Bouncing from one end of the stage to the other, Lupe commanded the crowd in a display of how long he really has been doing this.Wale may have warmed the crowd up, but Lupe Fiasco wielded the mic skillfully and kept them hot. Stopping to talk to his audience every once in a while between songs, Lupe constantly reminded his fans to keep moving forward toward your dreams never forgetting where you come from.

Like his lifestyle, Fiasco’s music and performance are defined by eclecticism as well. Not only does he tour with a live band rather than a DJ like most rappers do, but he’s probably the only MC you’ll see with a violinist in his band (Berklee grad Ashanti Floyd).His show started out more like a rock show than hip hop with the band blasting through the powerful “Words I Never Said” as Fiasco banged his head and played air guitar while singer Sarah Green took the vocals on Skylar Grey’s catchy chorus.With a post-punk side project called Japanese Cartoon, Fiasco is no stranger to rock and he used this side of him to fuel the excitement for the first leg of the show with amped up tracks like “State Run Radio”, “Go Go Gadget Flow” and his verse from N.E.R.D.’s “Everyone Nose”...

KTT forum member Emperor Lu (LL) was able to speak to Lupe in Toronto today and he reports that Lupe said "Friend of the People" will probably drop on Thanksgiving. That would be around Nov. 24th which would mean that it would drop exactly 2 years after "Enemy of the State."

On the musical side of things, what sort of music do you listen to?
I pretty much listen to everything except heavy metal or rave music. I like pop, RnB, hip-hop, and rock.
We noticed that while you don’t follow too many people on Twitter you do follow Lupe Fiasco. Is it his music, his message, or both that does it for you?
I like Lupe’s lyrical content. His messages are good. He encourages people to think outside of the box, and question what we are told and expected to just believe.
Intro To Lupe: "In 2007 I was contacted by producers named Chris & Drop. They had done some work with Lupe [Fiasco] and played him some of our songs. After that Lupe contacted me, and "the rest is history" as they say."
