Lupe Fiasco says 'Food & Liquor 2' is half done x Atlantic won't mess it Up

Someone from KanyeToThe was at the album signing event at the FYE store in Elizabeth, NJ yesterday and asked Lupe something about 'Food & Liquor II.'

Check the convo they had below:

Q: "What do you think man, how many first week sales for LASERS?"
Lupe: "To be honest with you man, I have no idea"

Q: "Yeah, what do you think, they'll be a little more flexible on you with Food and Liquor II?"

Lupe: "Yeah, and the good thing is, F&LII is already HALF DONE"

Q: "That's what's up, and they won't change it up on you right?"
Lupe: "Naw man, we're gonna be gooood"

  7. thank god, i want a solid album for the next one. i love lasers (about 70% of it) and what its stands for more than musically but it cant mess wit f&l or the cool.

  12. Definitely excited about F&L2...Just wanted to say that while I was disappointed with LASERS at first, I've given it several listens and really Lupe is still amazing lyrically on the album. I'd suggest not getting lost in the weaker hooks and really pay attention to what he is saying like always.

    Of course they COULD but at this point it doesn't really make sense for them too.

    Plus getting two albums in a year it makes sense for one to be fully commercial and let the other be more hip-hop oriented, even Atlantic realizes there's a market for that too.

    They got the 2011 album they wanted, that should please them for awhile until it's time for LASERS 2: The Great American Pop Album or w/e

  19. Yeah, i bet....SIKE! Atlantic runs this nigga. What they want is essentially what they will get. If they feel like they want him to switch some things up then he'll either have to do it or get shelved again. plain and simple

  20. The record sales for LASERS will be a catch 22. If it does well, Atlantic will believe everything they forced was for good reason and the critics will say he sold out. If it does bad, then everybody will say Lupe flopped even w/ a commercial album.

  21. When has Lupe ever flopped? The only thing flaccid about Lasers is the hooks but the masses eat that shit up like a tramp on chips/bum on french fries

  23. Just because the album is half done, doesn't mean that Atlantic want tamper with it. They could just make him go in there and make him do songs they want and scrap what he's already done. I believe it when I see it.
