KTT forum member Emperor Lu (LL) was able to speak to Lupe in Toronto today and he reports that Lupe said "Friend of the People" will probably drop on Thanksgiving. That would be around Nov. 24th which would mean that it would drop exactly 2 years after "Enemy of the State."

^^ he only pushed it back once. it was originally supposed to drop on Xmas '09, but he put it on hold indefinitely in order to train for the climb up Mt. Kilimanjaro. there hasnt been a solid date announced ever since..

I'm tired of everyone complaining about how LASERS was so terrible. Yes, it's nothing like Food and Liquor or The Cool. But those two albums are classics in my book. So to expect him to top that is a lot to ask for.
Now about him selling out or the cd was just trash, I don't think so at all. It was still above average. Songs like Letting Go, All Black Everything, Beautiful Lasers, even Words I Never Said were all great. Just because he got a catchy beat/ hook don't equal bad music. You all cry about how it's so terrible yet the message is the same. His music still has the same content in it. He just express it in a different way. Did I want a better LASERS? Of course I did, but fact is the cd never would've came out without him making those "trash" songs. And you all would be crying now about how we need a cd. So shut up and just be happy we got a cd. There will be better coming.
