someone brek dis track down fuh me. lu aint keepin it real fo a simple minded cat lik me mayne dis shit be somethin i need like a masterate degree for or sumen man feelme one time?
Oh myyyyyy that was fire, this is raps messiah, take notice. Excellent job lupe, I fucking love you. Best Artist out there right now along with Nas keep it up Wasalu. This is your year brother.
That's a deep song. This is real stuff. What are all these revered rappers rapping about? This is how you the game can be changed. Rap about real stuff, that affect peoples lives. Damn. Lupe is the man. Keeps it real all the time.
I agree with what anonymous said about learning more in a Lupe song than in a classroom. Each song of his is like school is in session on reality and what matters in the world. I get the feeling FNL2 is going to be the masters program. Can't wait!
Damn this song is raw! I wonder if this will get any radio play? Part one messages will be sick but I hope the world is still here for the rapping of part 2!
1st verse is about the "Diamond Flooded Demons". The first 8 bars are about excersising those demons n the last 8 are about how materialism corrupts people.2nd verse is about a woman thought as "insane" but gets "cured" by science n now cant think on her own will. Its about the media and how it dumbs down/brain washes people. The 3rd verse is about catholic priests molesting boys
'But we must still pray that his colour will be cured'
This line, in the context of the verse, seems to be a reference to Christian missionaries that demonized people of darker skin tones and their cultures because they did not understand them. Lupe steps into the Eurocentric perspective that those missionaries carried, with this line
The second verse is about how women in the 18th century who wanted an education were thought of as insane so they made them get lobotomys thinking it would cure said insanity. It really did more damage than good.
And who ever said their sick of the political shit. Imagine how people who would prefer to listen to substance feel about the majority of mainstream music. You don't like it don't listen, stay in your lane. To each his own.
My Great God.
