Audio: D.L. Hughley addresses "Twitter Beef" w/ Lupe

After D.L. called Lupe out for not voting and after Lupe responded, D.L. went on another radio show to discuss the topic. Interesting that he didn't mention the 50k...

  2. Those young dudes are right, DL, the presidential elections are all influenced by wealthy contributors than a few million voters. When the cash is put up and it's billions of cash from certain corps. to the campaigning officials, it overrides the potency of a "manufactured democratic people's voice" of votes. The elected are bought into office by big money corporations and wealthy entities. That is fact.

  6. you anon niggas need to hop of lupe's dick. sure, voting doesn't "change" anything, but if you stop attempting to create change you lose the right to complain about the way things are. recognizing that and completely ignoring the system and its facts are two different things. Imagining that the partied political system will disappear is immature and naive, so you either take part (which by its very nature creates change by moving through generations - if you don't think america is better now than it was in the 60's and 70's and 80's you're just lost) or accept it how it is and shut up.

That's like complaining about your job but not applying for a new one ever. Pseudo-intellectual politics are not the business.

  7. He does contribute though. He has multiple organizations if you research it you'll see and there not just for tax right offs. The thing is this is a mass country its like how much can you really help? But he's definitely applying himself.. more than people who just vote and leave it at that for sure. At least when he contributes through his own corporations he knows for sure that it's benifiting the people. Even if it is just a city or two.

  8. ^This. Yeah, Lu has his Foundation and his humanitarian efforts. SO he is actually making a stance (outside of voting) to help his communities and to use the resources he has to make his community better. A president is a puppet. Even they dont have full power, and even they are influenced by big money corporations and oligarchical control. Get the brainwashed idea that this is a "people's republic" out of your mind and analyze how economic and political arena's are controlled against the people's will (sending millions and billions into poverty, unemployment, and foreclosure), and it isn't about the voice, it's about who has the biggest FINANCE.

  9. If you are going to complain, then use that frustration for benefit. Use your resources to make it better for your own community. And if you can't, then vote, but know that a vote isn't detrimental to an election outcome, it is what big money contributor has the biggest check, almost like the seat has a bottom line price. After you vote, then like Lu said, add another task to your mission to help people by turning it into a progressive change for someone else in the community.

  10. ^^ I wasn't talking about Lupe. I was referring to the fans that blindly agree with his "don't vote" statements. Lupe does do a lot of good, but the rest of you niggas don't do shit. You go on twitter and semi-preach, but unlike Lu you don't try to effect change. You just whine and talk.

  11. ^^ You really can't generalize because you don't know what people are doing. Alot of people do go out and help in their communities by donating, participating in community events, help the homeless, do volunteer and social work, etc, but you don't have to boast it or even mention it. It's only between them, God, and select people. You shouldn't change just to tell someone about it and brag that you did it, you should change because it is the thing to do for your fellow human beings. So you really wouldn't know.
