ReplyDeleteBeautiful
ReplyDeleteThis song actually made me cry..
ReplyDeleteI cried. Thank mr.jaco.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous simple yet powerful
ReplyDeleteSimple yet no one has ever done it before. The guy is a genius. Respect and love to the family who lost such a being.
DeleteMan....RIP
ReplyDeleteSo touching, for Lupe to come up with this in the space of a couple of days just shows how much of a genius he is, Soundtrakk did an excellent job too.
ReplyDeleteRest in Peace to that beautiful little girl x
I think it cuz it comes the heart, you dont have to dwell on it so much if it's sincere. ;)
DeleteOur hearts are filled with love today. Feels good.
Damn. "This world is such a f'ed up place. Maybe what's up there is great."
ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful. It brought tears to my eyes. RIP to Jonlayh. My God grant her Jenna tul'firdos (the highest level of heaven) and may He give her family the strength and the patience to endure this great loss.
ReplyDeleteJonylah* is what I meant to type
Deletewow!
ReplyDeleteAmazing
ReplyDeleteRest in Peace Jonylah,
ReplyDeleteThe first female President of the United States.
Rest in Peace Jonylah,
The leader of the movement that ended gun violence.
Rest in Peace Jonylah,
The musical inspiration.
Rest in Peace Jonylah,
The educator.
Rest in Peace Jonylah,
The founder of the cure for cancer.
Rest in Peace Jonylah,
The mother of two beautiful children.
Great song.. too bad about the little girl. I'm sorry her father was a scumbag gangbanger.
ReplyDeleteThis song is unbelievable. He raps about instead of Jonylah dying, she survives and grows up to become a doctor, but decides to stay in the hood. She then witnesses a man holding a dying baby and she helps save her (which in paradox she saves herself). Lupe really is a lyrical genius.
ReplyDeleteI don't how many songs like this for Lupe to get recognition he deserves.
DeleteR.I.P Jonylah
Beautiful peace offering. Im glad he said to keep negative comments to yourself, I know somebody would have said something stupid..
ReplyDeleteR.I.P. Jonylah
And this Chicago violence is too much. As a black man, I understand we were thrown in the ghetto/hood for us to be savages and kill each other. We were givin nothing and a lot of us are still living by the standard of the past. I wish there was a magic wand to fix the violence, but there really isn't any real solution. A lot of ppl mentality is fucked up and their circumstances are just too shitty. Violence is everywhere but in the inner city it's unremitting. IDK nothing in this world makes sense to me.
ReplyDeleteWow my favorite rapper and my favorite basketball player both paying tribute to Jonylah.
ReplyDeleteWhen I first heard that Derick Rose reportedly offered to pay for Jonylah's funeral I automatically knew Lupe was going to do something for her as well.
It's very unfortunate that something tragic like this happened.
May Jonylah R.I.P.
most powerful, most beautiful song i have ever heard. bar none. this is a masterpiece.
ReplyDeleteWow, this song brought a tear to my eye. Such a beautiful way to pay tribute with a beautiful song, for a beautiful life that was taken away too soon. Much praise Lu. May Jonylah R.I.P.
ReplyDeleteAmazing...much respect
ReplyDeleteNo negative comment but just an observation. Anybody else notice Kanye West has remained silent about this?
ReplyDeleteIt would be a cool gesture if he acknowledged it publicly but he's not obligated to
Deletecontent, musicality and soulful a great track R.I.P J
ReplyDeletethis should be no 1 in the charts . MESSAGE
ReplyDeletewhat wrong with this worlddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddd
ReplyDeletethe last verse when lu says the "coolest thing was when they offered you that high paying slot you replied they need me in the hood" sort of reminds me of when lu turned down joining jay z's Rockefeller records to do his own thing and promote positiveness and save the people
ReplyDelete^ THIS.
DeleteI totally want to download this song, but not for free. If Lu could put this up on say iTunes or Amazon or somewhere to purchase, I would for sure download it knowing that Lu would donate the proceeds to charity. This needs to be heard on the radio.
ReplyDeleteThe dad is a member of the GDs so it's indirectly his fault for having his daughter around gang lifestyle
ReplyDeleteOh so that is what happened, gang violence? I have so much to say about that. But out of respect, I'll just keep my comments to myself..
Deletestop the violence! love you Lu!
ReplyDeleteHmm... Pathos always has the opposite effect on me. Sorry.
ReplyDeleteBut the last verse was cool though.
makes you think
ReplyDeleteThe world needs JESUS,Praying for the family and friends
ReplyDelete*Yawn
DeleteWho was this child and what happened to her? Was she any relation to Lupe? The song was good. Lupe and Sountrack are a match made in heaven.
